Dalmatian Puppies For Sale

Home Raised Dalmatian Kennel is a state registered Dalmatian breeder specialised in raising pure breed Dalmatian puppies. We have owned and raised Dalmatian’s for more than 20 years. This dog breed originated in Croatia In the nineteenth century.  Its name is said to be derived from the now-extinct hound dog named Dama-chien . One thing that is sure about Dalmatian is that it was bred to work. It was utilised as a guard dog, shepherd, retriever, ratter, circus dog, and coaching dog. Today, the Dalmatian is a favourite family companion, because of its high affinity with horses, it is also used as a fire station dog, running with the horses to the fire and sometimes helping rescue people from burning buildings. The Dalmatian dog breed is a smart, playful, clownish, and loving dog that thrives on human interaction. They get along well with other pets in the household, but may chase after stray animals. Protective and courageous, the Dalmatian dog is a good candidate for a watchdog and a guard dog. The highly prized Dalmatian coat is smooth to touch with a texture of fine satin low-shedding but high-maintenance. As athletic working dogs, they require extensive daily exercise to wear them out. They have an average lifespan of 12-16 years.  We understand some people have little or no knowledge about the Dalmatian dog breed but may like to own one. About Dalmatian

The history of the Dalmatian dog breed is long and shrouded in mystery. The name Dalmatian was given to the breed in 1771 by Thomas Pennant, who believed that the breed originated in the country of Dalmatia, located in the eastern Mediterranean region. Depictions of the Dalmatian breed can be found in famous art pieces from this region as far back as the 19th century, and descriptions of the dog were found in Croatian church chronicles from 1719 and 1737 under the Latin name Canis Dalmaticus. With mysterious origins, the Dalmatian is known as a status symbol in the Regency Period. It is highly prized because of its decorative spots. It was bred to work as a coaching dog, mostly seen beside horse-drawn carriages of nobles. The Dalmatian is a fine-looking, muscular, and medium-size dog. It has incredible endurance and stamina. It weighs 48–55 pounds and stands 56–61 centimetres at the withers. This active and robust dog has a relatively long and flat head that is well-defined with a moderate stop and no loose skin. Dalmatian’s eyes are medium-sized that are either dark in black-spotted dogs or amber in liver-spotted dogs. Ears are also modest in size and set high with broken markings or preferably spotted. Its jaws are strong, its neck is fairly long, and its back is levelled with well-defined withers and well-sprung ribs. Dalmatian is an active breed and highly intelligent, due to their natural affinity for horses, the distinctive shape and color of the Dalmatian has been seen running beside carriages for centuries, from gypsy caravans to the coaches of well-born ladies, to horse-drawn fire engines. In fact, they are depicted this way so often that many people forget that they also excel as guard dogs, hunting dogs for both fowl and boar, vermin extermination, shepherding, and even as performers in the circus. Dalmatians are well known for their endurance, their speed, and their protective natures; however, these same traits may also lead to some of the more challenging aspects to owning a Dalmatian. All the energy that is required for a dog to follow a horse-drawn carriage for miles comes out as restlessness, anxiety, and destructive tendencies if the animal is not provided with the opportunity for ample exercise on a regular basis. Although they have a natural affinity for horses, if they are not properly socialized as puppies, Dalmatians can develop aggressive and territorial behaviors towards other dogs, particularly dogs of the same sex.

OUR STORY

Thanks for visiting our website. I am called Austin Simmons. The Simmons family are the owners of Home Raised Dalmatian Kennel. We have been breeding this lovely breed dogs since 2016. My wife and I are pet lovers so we took up the initiative to breed these lovely dog breed to satisfy the needs of families who will want to own or add a new member to their family. My knowledge about the Dalmatian has grown as the years go by as they are a dog breed that are very smart and make us to learn new things everyday. My history with owning a puppy goes right back to my Christmas holidays when I was 10 years old. My parents bought me a lovely Dalmatian  puppy which I named Liam. Liam gave me a lot of childhood memories when I was growing as a teen. He was more than a best friend to me. He was so lovely and friendly. Each time I got angry back then about something, Liam was always there to console me and make me smile again. I always thought he could talk as he understood me so much. I always speak to him at times hoping he will respond. Everywhere I went to, Liam was with me. I met my wife in college. We were very good friends back then. She loved Liam until she insisted her parents should get her a Dalmatian . That was how our love for this lovely dog breed grew up. Our dogs use to play together . Unfortunately in our later years at college, I lost my lovely puppy Liam. We grew up loving each other so much and loving this dog breed. Later on, We got married and with our love for Dalmatians, we decided to breed and raise this dog breed and why not educate puppy lovers about the importance of owning a Dalmatian puppy. Fast forward to today, my wife and I raise our 2 kids and breed the Puppies on our 3 acres of land where our puppies have enough space to play around. My family and I are dedicated to help everyone own the perfect, healthy puppy for their home. With our knowledge of this dog breed from childhood, we will say Dalmatians are the best dogs to own.
